Family Blood: The Murder That Shattered an All-American Home by Lyn Riddle (November 2003)

He Killed For The Money. He Got A Spot On Death Row.

Jimmy Robertson

Jimmy Robertson

Despite his typical, middle class raising, James “Jimmy” Robertson was a spoiled brat.

Wanting to help their oldest child overcome his destructive ways, they allowed Jimmy to move back into their home following his short stay in prison for the burgulary of a neighbor’s home.

In return for their love, the elder Robertsons would die a brutal death at the hands of their boy as his friend Meredith Moon sat in a room just feet away.

Lyn Riddle details the story of the Robertson double homicide in her book Family Blood.

Although an interesting case, the author’s writing style leaves a lot to be desired.

Readers are subjected to the long drawn out trial monologues that fail to produce any drama or theatrics of any sort.

Although I typically enjoy the writings of Lyn Riddle, this isn’t a book I can recommend.

Updates on Jimmy Robertson and Meredith Moon:

Jimmy Robertson recently celebrated his 36th birthday on South Carolina’s death row while awaiting the outcome of pending appeals.

Meredith Moon was paroled in June 2006 and is presently on supervised parole until 2016.
