Beauty Sleep: A Glamorous Mother, a Woman from Her Past, and Her Mysterious Death by Michaele G. Ballard

If you’re even considering reading Beauty Sleep, let me stop you right here.

It’s hard for me to review this book because I didn’t even finish it.

The basis for the book is Sally Jordan Hill, a nurse anesthetist, supposedly murdered Sandra Baker Joyner when she came in to have a facelift done.

Why?

Allegedly it came about because of a 30-year-old grudge.

How do they know that?  Based on a flippant comment made by Hill in the office to some (obviously) gossip seeking her 15 minutes of fame.

Whatever.

There’s no real case here; hence why (I’m sure) there has been NO disposition of this case despite being accused in 2001.

All of that aside, however, this is a story best left to a 3 page magazine article.

Just because you toss in 250 pages (out of 256) of CRAP about medical procedures, malpractice, and other worthless stuff and repeat the same phrases over and over and over, doesn’t mean you created a good book to read.

Save your dime and your time – Beauty Sleep is THE WORST “true crime” ever written.
