Warren County, Tennessee law enforcement is asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for the murder of a 46-year-old disabled mother of three as she slept in her Lawson Mill Road home.
Occurring at 11:35 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009, just a few miles outside the McMinnville city limits, Rebecca “Becky” Mooneyham lay sleeping in her living room recliner when shots rang out in the night.
Her husband Philip and her two children immediately responded, hearing a vehicle speed away from the front of the home.
Mooneyham was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, where she died the following day from a single gunshot wound.
According to Warren County Sheriff Jackie Matheny, Mooneyham’s murder is a seemingly motiveless crime.
While officials have reconstructed the “how” of the crime, they are baffled as to the “why.”
If you have any information about this case, please contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Department at (931) 473-7863.
