Lately it seems the media has bombarded us with the news of the arrest of famed filmmaker Roman Polanski; who has been dodging prosecution on a child rape charge for three decades.
Frankly, I’m really sick and tired of hearing about; but more than anything I’m really disgusted by Polanski and his supporters – including his victim – who think he should get away with such a disgusting crime.
So I’ve decided to lighten up a little this week, play along in a popular blog meme, and have some fun with this subject.
Today’s headline at TCBR is 13 Reasons Roman Polanski Should Not Be Prosceuted:
- He’s still holding onto a “Get Out of Jail Free” card he drew in a game of Monoply.
- Woody Allen says so.
- There would be no one to make films to put me to sleep.
- He’s a victim too (Sharon Tate was his wife). {This is said in a long, drawn-out whiny voice}
- It was an accident. He didn’t mean for it to happen. {insert whiny voice here}
- He’s 72-years-old. There should be an exception to senior citizens.
- He was so successful in his effort to avoid prosecution for so long. Doesn’t that count for something?
- Money can buy anything; as in, pay your victim, you’ll go scot-free.
- He promises to never do it again. And this will be reinforced by the refusal of his physician to prescribe Polanski Viagra.
- His 13-year-old drugged victim never actually said, “No.”
- Polanski is European. And everybody knows that anything goes in Europe – and those same rights transfer even when you’re a Europian living in America.
- Polanski misunderstood what Barrack Obama meant when he said, “Change.”
- He’s afraid of being raped in prison.
