Double Trouble
Review by Kim Cantrell
Stephen and Brobert Bruce Spahalski shared a womb, identical DNA, and eventually a life of crime.
Robert would be labeled a serial killer with victims from both genders. Stephen wouild be convicted of only one murder, but other henious crimes would land him many (additional) years behind bars.
Each of these boys would commit murder where their bisexuality was considered a key factor in the choosing of their victim.
Michael Benson details the life and crimes of the Spahalski twins in his latest book Killer Twins.
Unfortunately, as is too often the case with Benson’s books, the writing is disorganized, choppy, and extremely redundant in some places.
The writing about the anticlimatic trial could double as a sleep aid. I found myself skimming numerous pages during this part.
While there’s an interesting story surrounding the Spahalskis, there just isn’t quite enough for a entire book; hence, no doubt, Benson’s constant filler material about Rochester’s other infamous killers such as Arthur J. Shawcross, John White, and The Alphabet Killer.
In my opinion, Benson should have created a short story true crime based on Rochester’s murderers. There’s definitely plenty of them.
I hate to say it, but I just can’t recommend Killer Twins.
