Gregg Olsen returns to true crime with BANG!  In A Twisted Faith, Olsen has delivered a true crime story that reads like fiction but is OH. SO. TRUE.

Nick Hacheney believed that he was special.  He grew up hearing how he was God’s child; that he was a chosen one after an incident that occurred when he was just a baby.

So it was no surprise to his family when Nick decided to become a preacher. 

And when he married Dawn, most believed it was a marriage ordained by God personally. 

Nick, however, believed his gifts lay not with his ability to preach but in “healing” the women of the church through his sexual prowess.

But when Dawn perishes in a fire while Pastor Nick is off on a hunting trip, some members of the church begin to question Nick’s innocence.  Especially when one of his lover’s and a supposed prophetess of God comes forward with information that the fire was not an accident. 

Olsen handed this true crime fan exactly what I love, the story without the boring courtroom details.  From beginning to end, A Twisted Faith is nothing but the story – which is one twisted and sick enough to fill over 300 pages alone. 

I was hooked from page one and found it an extremely difficult book to put down; so much so that I read it in less than 24 hours!

Olsen writes with a style reminiscent of Jack Olsen (no relation), giving readers what they want and how they want it.  And the story will disgust, enrage, and, at times, outright confuse you – not because of the writing style, but because of the people involved.
