Who is Sharon Marshall?
Review by Kim Cantrell
She was known as Tonya to her co-workers at the strip club.
That was the name in this phase of her life.
But as a child, she had a variety of names; depending on where she and her “Dad” lived at the time. Mostly, though, she was known as Sharon Marshall.
Yet Sharon wasn’t really Sharon. She didn’t really know who she was.
Only her “Dad” knew her true identity, and he’s not talking.
Author Matt Birkbeck created a beautiful masterpiece on the story of Sharon Marshall in his 2005 book titled A Beautiful Child.
While some have claimed that all the statements made within have later been disproven, I found it to be relatively concurring with facts known to date.
A Beautiful Child is such a sad story; one of a young girl who knew no life other than that of abuse at the hands of a man she learned to call “Daddy.”
After reading this book, Sharon Marshall is sure to be someone a reader NEVER forgets.
If you have not yet read A Beautiful Child, be sure it’s the next in line on your reading list.
Stay updated on this case at the A Beautiful Child Facebook page.
