Fiction Friday: Reckless by Andrew Gross (April 2010)

Reality Fiction
Review by Kim Cantrell

Ty Hauck, a cop-turned-private-investigator, is shocked one morning to see an old friend has been murdered in her home along with her daughter and investment banker husband.

When a second investment banker commits suicide and another financial giant crumbles, Hauck’s suspicions are raised.

There’s obviously a conspiracy to bring down the American economy.  But who’s behind it?  Who can he trust?

Hauck turns to the United States Treasury for help, but instead he’ll find himself in the path of a dangerous, twisted scheme that’s greater than anything he could ever imagine.

Reckless was the first novel by Andrew Gross that I had read, and I have to say that I walked away impressed.  While the plot initially seems a little overwhelming (if not scary because of the potential for reality surrounding it), Gross’ writing style makes it easy to follow and flips mundane economics into gripping suspense fiction.

Definitely add Reckless by Andrew Gross to your “brain candy” list.  You’ll love it!
