Friday Fiction: The Bone Thief by Jefferson Bass (March 2010)

Fiction from The Body Farm
Review by Kim Cantrell

There’s a black market for organ donation, and Dr. Bill Brockton is about to find himself smack dab in the middle of it.

When the FBI approaches the founder and chief anthropologist at Knoxville’s well-known Body Farm, Dr. Brockton agrees to assist them in bringing down a ruthless black marketer.

But it’s not as simple as providing a couple of bodies “off the books.” Dr. Brockton will find himself lured into a sinister deal that puts his reputation and life on the line.

The Bone Thief was the first Body Farm novel from Jefferson Bass – the name for the writing team of Dr. Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson – that I had read.

While it’s obvious that I stepped into the middle of a personal story covered in previous books, it wasn’t so entwined that it interfered with this book’s plot.

With the Body Farm being the backdrop of the story, strongly developed characters, and an intriguing plot, The Bone Thief is a suspense fiction you’ll want to add to your reading list.
